The Manawatu Land Sale.

We remind our readers for the last time that the Manawatu Railway Company's land sale takes place at the'auction rooms of Messrs T. Kennedy Macdonald and Co.. Limited, Wellington, on Tuesdav next, at 2 o'clock. No previous sale of the Company's land lias perhaps created so much interest as the subdivision and sale of the drained portion of the Makererua Swamp, situate between Linton and Tokomaru. These sections range in area from 10 to 136 acres each. In addition to this block fifteen of the Company's bash sections, ranging in area from 70 to 150 acres, and the balance of sections in Tokomaru and Linton townships are also to be offered. The terms of sale for the farming sections are on the Company's usual liberal scale, viz.: 10 per cent cash, and the balance in seven years at per cent interest. Looking at the first-class quality of the land to be submitted, and the fact that at a recent auction sale held in Wellington a section adjoining the swamp land realised £lO 12s 6d per acre cash, and also that all the sections are adjacent to the railway line, and within easy distance of Tokomaru and Linton, we expect to see a very large attendance of buyers and keen competition for the various sections. Details appear in another column.
