Wesleyan Conference.

Wellington, This day. At the Weslayan Conference the balance sheet contingent fund showed an income of £1,207 and expenditure £B2l. The levy for the year will be ■H per cent, the same as last year. The Revs. McNichol and and Harris were re-elected treasurers. The report from the Theological Hall was road. The Rev. Mr Simmonds made a powerful appeal for all students to remain in the Prince Albert College for at least three years. He thought the revs, connected with the examination of probationers was disheartening, and 011 the down grade, and he urged the Conference to absolutely decline to call out men from the college before the expiration of their tenn, unless under exceptional circumstances, It was resolved to keep all students at the college. The Rev. Mr Morley moved that any candidate received be placed on the reserve list with a view to enter the college on a vacancy occuring. This was carried, and Messrs Haslam and P. Keall received on these conditions. The Rev. J. C. Chapp received permission to return to his circuit at Balclutha and leave New Zealand for England within a mouth. The Revs. T. A. Jouglin and W. Connell received permission to reside in England for a year; and the Rev. \Y. B. Martin was granted leave to visit Englaud next year if suitable arrangements can be made with his circuit.
