Auckland, This day.
Captain J. A. Bewick, who was in the Island and Intercolonial shipping trade nearly thirty years, met with a fatal accident to-day. His steamer, the Scotchman, fouled with a yacht moored in the harbor. The latter's bowsprit caught Captain Bewick in the side, hurling him overboard. He expired shortly after he was picked up.
