[By Gifsy Grand.] A number of Mr W. Broughton's horses will be offered for sale at Hastings on Wednesday next. Among the list I notice a pair of fillies by Kempenfeldt, whose stock should gallop fast. There is a right-good chance of picking up a firstclass horse at this sale. Daimo has been allotted 12st 61b, Ebor 12st 31b, and Norton lOst 71b in the Liverpool Grand National Steeplechase. The following horses left for Woodville by the express this morning :—Boatman, Lotion, Target, Sabreur, Haeafca, Rip Vail Winkle, Waterstone, The Brook, Toriki, Straybird, Aphony, and Forest Rose. Moonraker and Maid Marion went through by the early train. There are 52 horses nominated for the Northern Derby of 1898-99. Captain Russell has four opposite his name ; Hon. J. D. Ormond, six ; and Mr J. has nominated Cynisca's brother, Nominations for the 11.8. Cup and Railway Stakes close to-morrow. Courallie, Jack o'Lantern, and Idolator filled the places in the Trial Stakes at Calcutta on Boxing Day. The following horses should run prominent in their engagements at Woodville tomorrow : —Trial Straybird and First Blood; Hack Hurdles—Toriki and Ned Kelly; Grand Stand Hack—Nero and Slumber ; Cup—Moonraker and Lotion with The Brook best outsider; Flying Hack—Roseleaf or Boatman; Borough— Waterstone and Maid Marion ; Welter— Sabreur or Slumber; Electric —King's Bowman, Maid Marion, Forest Pose, A perusal of the subjoined table will show the highest prices paid for the Wellington Park yearlings during the past 11 years : —- gns. 1887, Forest Queen, by Musket— Sylvia, Mr 'l'.
