[By Telegraph.] (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, This day". Walter Stott, town clerk of Green Island, was accidentally drowned on Saturday while bathing at the Taieri mouth. Benjamin Bern, ox-publican, whose conviction for fraudulent bankruptcy was affirmed by the Supreme Court, had his certificate suspended to-day for two years. Wanganui, This Day. The following team has been chosen to represent Wanganui at the Auckland champion athletic meeting : Good, Norton, Beamish, A. Holder, G. Holder, Kingsley, and Piper. Wellington, This day. At the annual meeting of the Gas Company the report, which was adopted, showed that £3OOO worth of debentures had been paid off. The sale of gas showed an increase of £I3OO, while the expenses are £BGI less. When the extension works are completed they will be a able to produce 75 per cent, more gas. Christchurch, This day. The bowling in inter-club matches resulted as follows :—Dunedin three rinks G1 beat Christchurch three rinka 57 ; Boslyn 21 beat Green Island 11 ; Canterbury three rinks 78 beat Oamaru three rinks 47. These were the only games concluded this morning.
