THE IRISH PARTY.
(l't.r I'n.-s Aw< iuii"/i.—( "/'Hii'j'ti.) London, -Jan. 26. At a meeting of the Irish party power was claimed to expel members or ask them to resign on an absolute majority. Mr Davitt moved that it was incumbent on the public to support the policy arranged as declared by the chairman. Mr Tim Ile.aly moved an amendment that a pledge to the electors was the best guarantee of cohesion. He objected to the chairman being granted the power mentioned. A division resulted:—For the amendment IG, against the amendment 33. Mr Davijt's motion was then carried, but Mr llealey intends to take no notice of the division.
