London, Jan. 14

Lord George Hamiltion reports that the popnlation of the famine affected districts in India number 37,00,000, while the inhabitants in other districts where acute disaster prevails number 44,000,000. The reports from Calcutta state there is adequate supplies of food in Madras and Burmah, the supplies being sufficient for immediate wants. Calcutta, Jan. 14. The supplies of food are sufficing tor immediate wants of Bengal, Punjaub and north-west and central provinces.
