Mr Turner has received a wire from Mr Reid announcing the intention of Government to issue a proclamation declaring that the Federal Enabling Bill shall come into operation in New South Wales on January 1, and suggesting that the other colonies do likewise.

Mr Turner replied that he would accede, and urged that as the last Convention was held in Sydney the present should be held in Melbourne, and the subsequent meeting to consider amendments at Svdnev or Adelaide.
