Commissioner of Crown Lands.
♦ [By Telegraph] (l-'fr J'rc.s-s Asportation.) Napier, This Day. At the Land Board to-day, a motion was passed recording their appreciation of the manner in which Mr Humphries, Commissioner, had conducted the business of the Board, and eulogising his general administration of the district. In acknowledging the compliment, Mr Humphries said his experience had been that the Hawke's Bay settlers were on the whole hard-working, persevering, and industrious. He leaves for his new sphere of labor, Nelson, early in January.
