Mills (32), Wynyard, and Hay (17) were the principal contributors. I'pham took four wickets for 71, Hales two for 29, Iloldsworth two for 30, and Warren one for 28. Wellington only made a moderate response on going to the wickets, and were all out for 149. K. Tucker 3r>fl Levers and S. Tucker 28 each, and R. (lore 17. Hay bowled with great effect, taking five wickets for 19 runs, and Neill four for 51. The match will be restricted to two days. This day. The cricket match was resumed at 11 a.m. There was a poor attendance and a high wind blowing. Cuff and G. Mills knocked up 04 before the latter was bowled for 40, including seven four's, though he should have been easily caught in the first over. The wicket was bumping a good deal, and at noon five wickets were down for 92, Mills IH, Neill, and Wynyard 18 each. At lunch Auckland had lost nine wickets for 138. Cuff 40, Ball 30, G. Mills 18. The Auckland's second innings closed for 142, leaving Wellington 21-j to win.
