An Interesting Discovery.

[By Telegraph.] (I'l l- Press Association■) New Plymouth, This day. An interesting discovery has been made near Purangi, inland from Inglewood, of the fossil remains of what is thought to be a huge land lizard. It is embedded in a papa rock in the bank of the creek, and the head has been exposed by a land slip in a perfect state of preservation, the scales and fossilised skin being" visible to the naked eye. It is estimated to be from thirty to forty feet long. An officer of the Survey Department leaves on Monday to inspect the discovery with a view to securing the remains.
