London, Nov. 13. The Daily Telegraph states that the advance into the Soudan will begin in June, and that 80,000 Egyptians and two brigades of English or Indian troops will proceed up the Nile. It adds that 20,000 men will be available for the attack on Omdurnian. The Venezuelan Government is satisfied that the -30 years' occupation of the territory over which the recent ill-feeling arose between England and America will be a bar to arbitration. Nov. 14. The financial papers approve the Queensland Government's guarantee to the National Bank, and censure the abases of its management. The Hon. Joseph Chamberlain, speaking at Birmingham, said the increase of German trade to the colonies bad on percentage increased greatly in the first half of the decade, but had not increased in the latter half. He added that the replies to his recent circular on the subject were the occasion of an excessive alarm that Great Britain would be beaten in certain industries owing to the undue independence of makers. The Catholic authorities state that the priest who was alleged to have been kidnapped and confined in France left vo!tmtaxiijP» i* Nov. 15. The House of Lords dismissed the appeal of the executors of the late F. Tollemache against the decision making them liable to probate|duty on mortgages in New Zealand. Costs were allowed. An expedition leaves Akassa in the middle of December to subjugate Slaranj's powerful tribe, who are harassing Sajo's on the Gold Coast. The Agency Land and Finance Company's balance-sheet shows a net profit of £1,316- The sum of £*3,000 was written off for debenture expenses, and £605 carried forward.
