The Canterbury Show.
[By Telegraph] [Special to Standard.] Christchurch, This clay. There is fine weather for the show to-day, and thousands are wending their way to the grounds. The affair is quite up to the standard of previous years. The Premier is expected to be present this afternoon. Later. The Ministry are represented by the Premier and Mr Hall-Jones. The light horses were judged this morning, the first prize for entire thoroughbreds being awarded to Sir George Clifford's Stoneyhurst ; hackney, W. F. Buckley's Zulu ; carriage, F. Simmons's Orpheus.
