Williams, Chief Commissioner of Crown Lands, Southland, who was about to be transferred to Canterbury, died at Dunedin this morning while on his way to Christchurch. He had been in the Government service for thirty years. Chkistcht-iu hj, This Day. At a meeting of the South. Island Trotting Association last night. the difficulty with tlie Auckland Trotting Club was ended by the removal of the disqualification. Several programmes were passed.
