The men were very exhausted, and they report that the boat capsize! in mid-ocean but was righted. \ ery rough weather was experienced in reaching the Queensland coast. When the Pay-spring';? boat capsized in mid-ocean the crew lost all their provisions and fresh water. After the boat capsized the Payspring's crew recovered several tins of preserved meat and a barrel of water. After these were finished they subsisted for over a week on cocoanuts, dried birds and brackish water. Nov. 2. The Dayspring's boat first struck She then made for Long Island, which waa reached on October 23rd. The sea at the lauding place was infested with sharks, which swarmed round the boat and savagely snapped at the oars. The men landed and got a supply of water from tanks at the old whaling station. They found plenty of turtles" eggs, obtained a supply of cocotuints ami killed turtles. They flayed on the island four days, recruiting themselves- The remainder of the voyage was made without any noteworthy incident. The successful issue of the royage is remarkable considering that Mr Cannichael had no chart and lost his sextant and map when the boat capeixed.
