The Godfrey Company.

This evening, at the Princess Theatue, Manager Lohr will introduce for the first time in Hastings the eminent London actor-vocalist Mr Charles Godfrey, and the members of his talented combination, the great majority of whom, like the " star," will make their first appearance before a local audience. Mr Charles Godfrey closed his Napier season last evening to an enormous audience, when the combination met with a flat-taring reception. To-night Mr Godfrey will produce his celebrated burlesque on ■' Trilby," with realistic and appropriate scenic effects, and in addition will sing many of his greatest successes, including " The l)on," Seventh Uoyal Fusiliers," and " Heads nestled closely together," and will be assisted by Miss Ada Baker, Miss Edith Reeves, Beanie Gallatley, the sisters Lingard, the Bovis Bros., James C. Bain, and other equally talented performers. Judging from the advance booking, there is little doubt but that Mr Godfrey and company will meet with a cordial reception from a bumper audience. Since Mr Godfrey is shortly due in London, only twelve performances remain for NewZea* land, which will be divided between "Wellington, Palmerston and Christclmrch. 11l addition to the above clever bill the management will exhibit Edison's latest marvel, which is at present the rage in European cities—The Kinematograph—and should assure a packed audience.
