A DROWNING FATALITY.
FATHER, MOTHER, AND TWO DA U GIITERS DROWN ED.
Perth, Oct. IG. A terrible drowning fatality occurred in the Swan river.
A party consisting of William M-Pberson, his wife Emma, and two daughters, aged nine and five years respectively, and a man named Stanley, had been to Canning bridge, a distance of about nine miles from Ferth, picnicking, and were on the way back.
The wind was fresh and choppy, and, through bad seamanship, the boat, a 15ft. dingy with a sprit sail, jibbed, and the occupants were thrown into the water.
Stanley, who was a good swimmer, was saved, but the MThersons were all drowned.
Mrs M'Pherson's body was recovered soon after the accident, and the police are now engaged dragging for the others.
M'Pherson was a carpenter, from Fitzroy, Melbourne, and it is only a few months ago that his wife and family came to Perth.
