Eight Hours' Demonstration.
[By Telegraph.]
[Special to Standard.]
Wellington, This day
It is a disagreeable and windy day, with threatening sky, and the trade procession is much inconvenienced by the dust. The usual array of decorated vehicles, trade trophies, banners, and band marched through the city at 10 a.m. to the Basin -Reserve, where a sports meeting is to be held.
The bootmakers obtained the prize for the best trophy, but none of them were particularly striking.
