THE WOOL SALES.

GENERAL DECLINE IN PRICE. London, Oct. 4. Through the heavy catalogues of inferior sorts at the wool sales on Friday a general decline of from 5 to 7 per cent is observable, with the exception of bright crossbreds and good heavy scoured merinos. Up to date 128,000 bales have been catalogued, and 114,200 have been sold. Prices were irregular on Saturday, and business quieter. "Elderslie" brought 6kl, and scoured " Owhaoko" 2s lfd. In the sheepsKins there was fair competiou. A slight advance took place in good crossbreds, but merinos and lower grade crossbreds showed a farthing decline.
