COLONIAL FRUITS.
A SUCCESSFUL SHIPMENT. London, Oct. 1. The shipment of Australian oranges by the steamer Ophir arrived in splendid condition, and at the auction there was the keenest competition. Some cases fetched as high as 28s, but the average price was l;)s Bd. One parcel, preserved by Parker's process, arrived soft, and was sold at 10s per case. Those packed in pumice were a failure, and brought only <is per case. Svonky, This day. The success of the shipment of oranges by the Ophir has been received here with satisfaction, as it has an important bearing on the fruit industry of this colony. It is estimated that there will be a profit of :-!s per case.
