+ TRAINING NOTES. [By Gipsy Grand.] Long before the stars hud paled into oblivion this morning the rattle of hoofs could be heard 011 the track. Indeed, it was before four o'clock when Con Boyle's horses broke the stilness of the dawn. The morning was beautifully fine, but the temperature was hardly as high as Coolgardie. The plough was a bit "dead," but the grass track was in good order. A large field of enthusiastic sports were in attendance and witnessed three or four good gallops. Sheet Lightning and Herald put in a couple of circuis on the plough. Boyle has the pair in fine trim, especially the little Quilt mare. The nest to move was Wikitoria, completing a couple of rounds on the grass at a sound pace. The chestnut daughter of Hotchkiss and Victoria is evidently on the improve and will capture a stake before long. Her stable companion, Torpina, was restricted to half-pace over a couple of circuits. Popgun, Forest Eo.se, Primula, and "Waterston jumped off at top over a circuit. Popgun and Forest Eose got well away together, but the other pair were slow to move and lost fully six lengths at the start. The daughter of Forester maintained the lead for the first six furlongs, but gave way to the son of Maxim, who passed the post in front of Forest Rose and Primula. "Waterston never closed up the gap that he lost at the start. Lorenzo put in slow work over a mile and a-half. The best "go" of the morning was between The Possible, Eip Van Winkle, and Orion's Belt over a mile and a-quarter on the plough. A close finish resulted in Eip getting home by a head in front of The Possible and the Belt. Another interesting gallop was that in which Hacata, Uniform, Bonnie Scotland, and Full Charge took part over a circuit 011 the grass. Haeata was first past tlio post, but neither Uniform nor Bonnie Scotlad were extended. The Guineas candidate, Uniform, attracted a considerable amount of attention this morning. He is by no means a big horse, but lias a very taking appearance and is well proportioned. It is quite on the cards lliat this colt will retrieve the lost laurels effected last year in the defeat of Bloodshot under the yellow jacket and black cap by Quiltiri in the Guineas. New Forest put in slow work over three rounds on the plough. The son of Newliiinster and Forest Queen is very well just now and may affect a surprise next week. Lotion accomplished two miles at a sound pace; he is in good heart just now and moved very freely this morning. Jack Tar performed half pace over two miles. Tally-ho 'put in a strong mile on the plough. The daughter of Forerunner is on the big side, but otherwise she is verv well. Flaneur galloped a couple of circuits on the plough. Jones sent Aphony round once at three-quarter pace. Blackberry slowly paced over a coujjle of circuits. Jf Rainbow, T Rose, and First were associated in a strongly run mTTe. The son of Sornnus was too" superior at the finish. A number of horses were worked after breakfast, the principal event being a three furlong spin between the handsome St Conon and a stable companion. Ormond's horses are said to be going well and are worked 011 the Karamudi tracks.
