THE EKETAHUNA- WOODY>LLE RAILWAY. [By Telegraph.] From Our Own Correspondent. Wellington, This Day. The slaughter of Speaker O'Rorke's pet lamb, which is the sensation of every session, took place last night. Usually the Onehunga Cemeterv Bill is killed in Committee bit u this occasion, after the Aucklan 1 Members had indulged in an ho u df two's stonewalling, it was alio e 1 to slip through Committee, only, however, to be finally executed on the third reading. Impartial observers who have visited the locality admit that Onehunga is badly treated through being deprived of its cemetery, and that the objection of the Aucklanders is unreasonable. The ballasting of the EketahunaWoodville Railway is being vigorously prosecuted, and should the weather permit, the line to Pahiatua will fee opened for goods trafiie by January or February, and for passengers two months earlier. About a year will elapse before the line is completed to Woodville, when it is proposed to run a daily express between Wellington and Napier. The trains will start about 10 a.m., and complete the journey by 7 p.m., crossing at Woodville.
