GENERAL ITEMS. Sydney, This day. In the Wilcannia district, at a depth of 1800 ft., a splendid supply of fresh water has been struck, producing 1,500,000 gallons per day. Obituary.—Thomas Buckland, for many years president of the Bank of New South Wales. He was well-known in pastoral pursuits in Wellington in the early years.
