TRADES CONGRESS.

DEMANDS BY THE UNIONISTS. London, Sept. 12. The Trades Congress demands that Government contracts shall he reserved for British workmen : that only union rates of wages should be paid in the dockyards ; and the abolition of child labor under 1 o years of age. Mr Trenvvith, the Victorian Labor leader, was welcomed by the delegates. He said it would be necessary to extend the scope and strength of the anions to meet the altered condition of affairs.
