The Banking Inquiry.
MORE FUN. [Speciai, to Standard.] Wet.tjn-gton, This day. 'Upwards of an hour was taken up by the Banking Committee during the forenoon considering notices of motion. Mr Foster, manager of the Estates Company Realisation Board, wrote that the directors had instructed him not to supply the Committee with the latest ascertained yalues of the company's properties. A proposal by Mr GfTo. Hutchison to rescind a resolution that the Colonial Bank liquidators should not be called to give evidence was lost by 7 to 2, and a motion by Mr Montgomery that Mr Seddon be called as "a witness to produce documents in the possession of the Govenmnet met with a like fate. There were one or two unseemly wrangles, and the proceedings at times caused great amusement to the members of the Committee and a few spectators that, were present.
