• -♦ THE POWERS AGAIN WARN THE SULTAN. THE BRITISH EMBASSY GUARDED. BRITISH SAILORS THRASH A STREET MOB. Constantinople, August 81. The disorder shows no signs of abating, and the Sultan has issued an order for the disarming of Musselmen. The Powers has intimated that the state of anarchy at present reigning must cease. The Armenian committee threaten further disorders until their grievances
are redressed.
British sailors are guarding the British Embassy, and they thrashed a mob who were rushing about the streets murdering Armenians. The Sultan has complained of the conduct of the British seamen.
