Jessop, Sewell and Grace all batted pluckily, but the rest gave a weak exhibition. M'Kibbin bowled splendidly, and the fielding was excellent. Townsend proved to be in great form with the ball when the Australians went to the wickets, and dismissed Trott, Donnan, Hill and Graham in three overs for three runs. Gregory played with great confidence. He hit seven fours and did not give a chance. August 21. Owing to heavy rains the AustraliaGloucestershire match was not resumed to-day.
