THE SITUATION IN CRETE.
THE PORTE >XD THE POWERS. London, August ID. The Porto lias informed the Powers that the sending of reinforcements to Crete by Greece is straining the relations between Turkey and that country. Athens, August 20. The Porte complains to the Powers of twenty-four Greek officers with rifles and ammunition being landed in Crete.
