THE NEW ZEALAND TOUR.
STRONG PROTEST AGAINST THE AUSTRALIANS' VISIT. Sydney, August 17. The Cricket-Association lifts resolved to cable to the New South Wales members of the Australian eleven strongly disapproving the action of the manager (Mi- iliisgrcve) in making further engagements which will interfere with their duty towards the colony in intercolonial matches, and trusting to their loyalty to resist any change of programme which endangers the interests of the colony in these matches. A meeting of the Cricket Council will be convened within a fortnight to consider Mr Musgrove's action in the matter irrespective of the decision of the association. It is stated that several members of the team have received cables from their employers warning them that if they are not at work by November 30th their situations will he tilled.
