Taupo finished discharging her cargo yesterday, and left for Wellington and-Greymouth at 4 p.m. The s.s. Te Kapu arrived from AVairoa early yesterday morning, and was to leave again for there this morning. The s.s. Bella left for Mohaka Yesterday morning. The s.s. Tfknpo arrived at Auckland from Newcastle yesterday. The Union Campany's new steamer Bakanoa arrived at Hobart yesterday. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Atcklasp. August 11. The Anglian left to-day for Sydney. The damage done to the Rangatira through the collision yesterday is said to be much more serious than was at first estimated. The vessel was floated into the Calliope Dock this morning for examination. It appears that the Rangatira's steering gear was smashed and her propeller twisted. An inquiry was commenced this morning before Mr Rose, Collector of Customs, and will be concluded to-morrow. Wellington - , August 11. The lighthouse-keeper at Farewell Spit reports that the Mawhera signalled when passing to-day that at 1 p.m. she had sighted the schooner Morning Light, bound from Bulli to Lyttelton, near Farewell Spit and under jury rig. This is the vessel spoken by the Mararoa some days ago, and which declined assistance.
