A Drowning Fatality.

IN WELLINGTON HARBOR. [By Telegraph.] [Special to Standard.] Wellington, This day. A peculiar drowning accident came to light this morning, when the body of John Edward Hayes, head of the well-known plumbing firm, was taken out of the harbor. His overcoat, stick, and boots were found in the water. A drag was* made and the body discovered. It appears that deceased had been in the habit of bathing his feet and legs, and when the body was found his trousers were rolled up above the knees. It is surmised that he either had a fit or slipped into the water from the gridiron in front of the watermen's shed, where he had been in the habit of sitting.
