AN AMNESTY OFFERED TO MATABELE CHIEFS. CATHOLIC DISABILITY REMOVED. Cape Town, July 12. An amnesty has been offered to a number of Matabele chiefs on condition that they surrender by August 10 This declaration does not meet with concurrence of the settlers. Transport corps from the Cape have arrived at Beira. Peetoria, July 12. The Chamber has rescined the resolution which prohibited Catholics from holding office under the Republic.
