THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE. PANIC IN THE MONEY MARKET. New York, July 11. Mr Bryan, known as the " Boy Orator," has been nominated by the Chicago Convention as the Democratic candidate for the Presidency, defeating Mr Bland by 446 to 105. His selection has caused universal surprise. Washington, July 12. The American gold reserve has fallen nearly a million dollars consequent on the excitement in connection with the silver party's agitation. The Democrats have nominated Mr Lewel, of Manil, for the Vice-Presi-dency.
