DISCONTENT AT FORT SALISBURY. FORT CHARTER RELIEVED. BURNING OF THE NATIVE KRAALS. London, July 9. Alarming cablegrams are being received reporting the prevalence of discontent at Fort Salisbury. The officers disagree upon the methods of defence, and supplies are quoted at fabulous prices. Cape Town, July 9. Major White has relieved Fort Charter, marching from Buluwayo in 12 days and defeated the rebels. He found that the insurrection extended all along the route. Captain Beal has relieved 200 whites who were beleaguered at Elgform. July 10. Lord Grey, administrator of the Chartered Company, has accepted an offer of the Cape Government to transport a corps to Rhodesia on condition that the company pay the cost. The corps will be ordered to proceed to Beira. Captain Ware's patrol burned many kraals and killed 15 of the enemy, who took refuge i» caves.
