ANOTHER GOLD DISCOVERY. STOBMY WEATHER IN WEST AUSTRALIA. INVASION OF JAPANESE TO QUEENSLAND. Melbourne, July 6. A new gold discovery has been made in the Alexandra district, where two men raised five tons of stone which yielded 290z of gold. Perth, July 6. Stormy weather is being experienced along the west coast of Australia. At Freemantle a number of steamers had to steam up to their anchors all night to prevent the moorings parting. The compositors in the Herald Office (Perth) have struck for an increase in pay from £2 14s to £2 18s per week. Brisbaxe, July 6. The Japanese invasion continues. A steamer has just arrived from Townsville with a hundred Japanese for the plantations. Sydney, July 6. The wool sales opened well this morning. Bidding in the first catalogue is devoted to merinos.
