The massacre took place near Damascus, and the Turks had 500 men killed. The Mahommedan Arabs united and surrounded the Turkish battalions. The rebels burned the Government buildings in Suvendia, to avenge the action of the Porte towards the 1 >ru sos, which the latter regarded as treacherous.
