HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS.
INTENSE WEATHER IN NEW SOUTH WALES. SyoNF.v. June 22. Heavy rain and intensely cold weather is being experienced in the coastal districts and it is stormy and dirty at sea. The shipping has been driven to take shelter. The heaviest frost and snow for many years have been experienced in the southern and western highlands, six to eighteen inch- - having fallen. Trees were broken down by the weight of snow, and telegraph communication with the south and other colonies blocked. A peculiar feature was that in many cases the snow was accompanied by seve re thunderstorms. Stock is sutVering badly and large numbers of animals are perishing.
