THE VENEZULEAN SURVEYORS THE CABLE CODE. AMERICAN POLITICS. London, June 21. The Governor of British Guiana has ordered the surveyors not to resist the Venezuelans, and to retire. The Agents-General have protested against the compulsory use of the cable code, on the ground that it is inadequate and unworkable. They propose to postpone it for five years. Washington, June 21. The discontent in. the west is increasing, on account of the adoption of the gold standard by the Republicans. It is believed that Major M'Kinley will sign any Finance Bill Congress may pass.
