The triennal Intercolonial Council or the Y.M.C.A. have decided to establish a fund in e.ic-h centre to provide ail organising society for Australasia. Lord Brassey, in the course of a speech, said the association deserved every support and recognition. There were, he said, 5000 branches of the association, with a membership of over 500,000. Eight Sydney sailing; v» Is. fully loaded, have been lying in the Nambricca river for six weeks past cm ing to the river being blocked by a bank of sand. The Government are being urged to carry on dredging operations, in order to allow the vessels to take their departure. The Balmain Rowing Club has challenged the \ iciorian crew who recently won the intercolonial fours. Brisbane. June 12. The Meat and Dairy Produce Encouragement Board have made a grant of £B2OO to the Champagnie D'Alimentation, of Paris and Havre. The grant is made under the Act authorising the Board to spend money beyond the colony for any purpose for the encouragement- of the export of produce. One condition is that produce for the store must be drawn from the colony.
Cooloarpie, June 12. Two goods trains travelling in opposite directions collided in a fog. Both engines were wrecked. A man named Fuller, belonging to Adelaide, was killed. Others were slightly injured.
