THE LOCHER CASE.

—<► — A PLEA OF INSANITY. Special to Standard. Wellington, This day, Sirs Loc-her appeared yesterday at the Supreme Court to answer a charge of attempted murder on G. 11. Norbury, who, it will be remembered, was shot in the auction room of Harcourt and Co. a short time ago. Sir Robert Stout appeared for the defence.

The facts were not disputed, but an attempt was made to prove that Mrs Loclier was not responsible for her actions, she being of a highly excitable temperament, and her mind had become unhinged by financial troubles. Mr Norbury was too weak to appear. The case is not yet concluded.
