Sydney, May 14. The Canadian Pacific Company have contracted, to carry 10,000 tons of sugar annually from Australia for a Vancouver refinery. The Government has decided to appoint a Boyal Commission to inquire into Mr Varney Parkes* charges, and and the latter withdrew his amendment to the Address in Eeplv, which has passed both Houses. The Full Court quashed the conviction of Dean and Meagher for conspiracy. This, however, does not affect Dean's sentence for perjury. The tennis Teams Match against New Zealand was played to-day, and resulted in an easy win for the New Zealand players, the scores being: New Zealand, 149 ; and New South Vales, 96. Parker and Gore gave a good display in the doubles match.
