A meeting of the ]'runner relief fund committee was held this morning to consider replies received from V\ ellington and Dunedin. relative to the forthcoming conference called by the Premier. The question was whether the Auckland committee should fall in with the views of the Premier or adhere to the previous arrangement with the Dunedin committee of leaving the matter in the hands of the municipal conference to meet in -July next. After discussion n was resolved to adjourn the meeting until the Dunedin committee forwarded the Premier's reply as to leaving the matter in the bands of the municipal conference. Weli.ixoton. This day. The lowest tender for the construction of the Mokohine viaduct was so much in excess of the Government engineer's estimate that the Cabinet declined to accept any tender. The question of making the excavations for the foundations was referred to the Engineer in chief, with a view of getting the work done by co-operative labor.
