The Czar extended a heaty welcome to Li Hung Chang. New York, May 7, A rich discovery of gold has been made at Trinidad. Quito, May 7. A severe earthquake has been experienced throughout the Republic, and many persons were killed. Washington, May 8. Sir M'Kinlay's prospects for the Presidency are daily improving. Massowah, May 7. A chief has insisted on the Italians indemnifying him before removing their arms and ammunition from Adigrat. Constantinople, May 7. Zemaleldin, the exiled agitator, who is alleged to have instigated the assassination of the Shah, was arrested here, but subsequently released.
