CONCESSIONS ASKED FOR BY AGENT-GENERAL.

Sir Saul Samuel, Agent-General for New South Wales, is endeavouring to persuade the Imperial Government to abandon the double income tax which colonists at Home have to pay, as lie contends that its imposition is creating irritation amongst colonists, and prevents the investment of capital. lie has requested Mr Chamberlain, Secretary of State for the Colonies, to use his influence with the Treasury in the matter, and is hopeful of success.
