The track presen ted an animated appearance, and many of the performers shower 1 great improvement in their work. The first to move was Connop with Tally ho, doing two circuits at top. finishing well. Lotion and the new arrival, New Foivst. were associated with Musketeer once round. New Forest appeared to be in trouble at the end of a fast run. Direct Veto and T Hose also put in good v:ork at top speed, the big chesnut appearing to have had quite suO-eien*. Searchlight jumped oil" at the six furlong post, moving nicely andiini-h----ing well. Ormond's string, Daring, Solitaire and Martyrdom put .in one circuit, lirishing all together in good time. "Wikiloiia and Heavenly Twin ran five furlongs, the Twin having all the of it. I'larney and Glenieldt traversed six furlongs, finishing strong. A Sydney paper says that Dan O'Brien lias lost more over Response than he got when he sold I'arbine. Wallace has won l'">vsl up to date. As a two-year old he only won one race. Fishook, Pet rea, Progress, and Wallace have been the only three-year olds to win the double, Sydney l.eger and Cup, in :)0 years. Carbine (twice) and his have been the only Victorian representatives to win the Sydney Cup in 15 years.
