SAMOA TROUBLES.
GERMANY'S INTENTIONS IN BEGABD TO SAMOA.
MALIETOA’S REINSTATEMENT ADVOCATED. Berlin, Jan. 26. The North Deutsche Zeitung states that although Germany is entitled to annex Samoa, provided she respects the rights of the subjects of the Treaty Powers, she has no such intention.
WxsHtNatoN, Jan. 26. The Secretary of State, Mr Bayard, received in 1886 an unofficial reauest from Germany * for permission to annex Samoa, The request was refused. The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of Congress advocates that Malietoa, deposed King of Samoa, be reinstated.
