MAIL NOTICES.

For Napier and Wellington, per Maitai, on Wednesday, at 9 a.m. For Auckland, per Australia, on Thursday, at 7.30 p m For the United Kingdom, via ’Frisco, on Thursday, at 7.30 p.m. For Napier, Wellington, South, and Australian colonies, per Rotomahaaa, on Friday, at 3 p.m. For Auckland and Sydney, per Manapouri. on Saturday, at 7.3 C p.m. For Tauranga and Auckland, per Wainui, on Monday, at 7.30 p.m, HOLIDAYS.—On the 25th inst. and Ist Jan., Post Offices will observe a close holiday, but on Boxing Day will be open, in all branches, from 9 a.m. till 10 a.m. Mails usually despatched on Christmas and New Year’ days will close the preceding evenings at 7.30, but on Boxing Day the usual despatch of mails up to 10 a.m. will be made. The letter carrier will make one delivery on Boxing Day, commencing at 8 a.m, On evenings of the 24th and 31st inst., town letters may be obtained on application at the Post Office counter. Private box lobbies—Sunday hours on Christmas and New Year days ; usual on Boxing Day. The Telegraph Office will open each holiday from 9 a.m. till 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. till 8 p.m. LOCAL MAILS. For Makaraka, Waerenga-a-hika and Ormond, daily at 2.30 p.m., and arrive at Gisborne daily at 11 a.m. For Wairengaokuri, Tiniroto and Wairoa, every Monday, at 11 a.m., and arrive at Gisborne every Thursday, at 5 p.m. For Waimata Valley, every Monday, at 1.30 p.m , and arrive at Gisborne every Monday, at 10.30 a.m. W.
