NEWS OF STANLEY.
London, Dee. 22. News has just been received that a letter from Stanley reached Stanley Falls on August 28. He was then at Bananlya, on the Arunhini, and had left Emin Pasha eighty two days ” previously. Emin was well and amply supplied with provisions. was expected to leave Bananlya ten days after despatching his letter, -presumably to join Emin Pasha. He reports BUwel). NEWS RECEIVED WITH CHEERS IN HOUSE OF COMMONS. STANLEY SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN THE WHITE TRAVELLER. London, Dec. 23. The news of the safety of Stanley, when read in the House of Commons, was received with cheers. It is that Stanley was the “ white traveller” mentioned by Osman Digna in his letter to General Grenfell as having escaped when Emin Bey fell into the hands of the Mahdi.
