Bowing Notes.
The final heat of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club's trial-fours took place on Saturday between Walters’ and Barry’s crews, the former winning by a length after a splendid race. The first heat of the Gisborne Club’s trialfours last evening was won by Green’s crew, which beat Chri«p’s crew rather easily. The winner rows off to-night with Spurdle, when a good race may be anticipated. “ Outrigger ” tips Spurdie’s crew, but thinks the losing crew will not be very far behind.
The much talked of race between Messrs Parker and Hughes, of Napier, and Messrs Miller and Booth, of Gisborne, is not likely t ■ come off, as Mr Hughes has removed to Timaru, and Mr Parker, who is now on a visit to Gisborne, has in the course of training strained his arm.
