The judge decided that there was a dead heat for first place, but the general opinion was that Cyclops just got home. The owners of Mentor and Cyclopsagreed to divide the stakes. Time, 3mins SBsecs. The following are the results of yesterday’s races:— Nursery Handicap—Corunna 1, Merrie England 2, Water Baby 3. Oaks—Enchantress 1, Ravenswing2, Rainbow 3. Canterbury Cup—Butler’s Manton 1, Hon Robinson’s Chainshot 2, Stead’s Lochiel 3. Wolverine and Leon also started. Divs, £1 10s 6d and £l.l Is. Metropolitan Handicap—British Lion 1, Ruby 2, Leopold 3. Divs, £7 Is and £7 16s 6J. Flying Handicap—Chudleigh 1, Sextant 2, Sierra 3. La Rose, Escapade, Lorraine, and Sultan also started. La Bose gotjaway in front but Sextant and Chudleigh came through at the turn, and the latter won a grand race by two-thirds of a length. Time, Imin 6Jsec, Dividends, £2B 17s 6d, and £22 17s 6d.
